OT (but it's a GOOD OT :D)

WHOOHOOOOOOOO!

Little Elm ISD (the local school district) has called me. I have to call them back tomorrow to tell them whether or not I accept the position they've offered, but most likely I"ll accept.

Here's the rundown:

Position: Child Nutrition (i.e. Lunchlady)

Pay: close to 8 bucks an hour (almost a dollar raise over what I'm making now), with a fair chance at regular payraises (not an option where I am now, unless I become a mgr which I DO NOT want to do)

Benefits: School vacations and summers off (even though I'll probably take a pt job in the summer to help pay bills), med/dental/vision insurance if I choose to accept (don't know about that yet, since hubby has insurance through his work too and it's pretty good. HOWEVER, if we end up canceling his insurance and going with the school's insurance,it'll be free. They pay X amount per month and then I'd pay whatever cost above that needs to be paid)

My sanity: Priceless

It will be no less than 25 hrs a week, from like 7:30-2:30 pm, which isn't really all that bad. All school holidays/vacation days off..which is good. No more working Black Friday--VERy good. All around, I can't see how this could be a bad thing. I have to talk to my husband to work out how this affects the household budget, etc but most likely I will end up accepting. I'm going to let HR know tomorrow and then I have about 2 1/2 weeks to let my boss know that I'm quitting. Which is fine. I'm doing that as soon as I tell HR I'll take the job. WHOOPPEEEE! No more sucky customers for me! Well..except in summer. But I can handle that...only having to work retail like 8 weeks ou t of the year is fine with me. I'm too old for this shit anyway.

I want to say thank to everybody who has struggled right along with me in this job search, those of you who've wished me luck, commiserated with me on sucky customers and even suckier coworkers. I want to say thanks for the laughs, thanks for the prayers, the pixie dust..everything. :) I love you guys.

Don't forget to love your lunchlady. :)
