No more flipper

No more flipper

I stopped wearing the flipper appliance for my missing tooth when I went in for my surgery. In six weeks of recovery, there was no need for any cosmetic dental camoflage, so I got out of the flipper habit. The flipper is sitting in a case somewhere in my bathroom. For me, I think this was a waste of money, but the missing tooth is not directly visible unless I flash a big smile.

The implant post has integrated properly with my jaw bone, so I'll be getting a permanent post this Thursday at the oral surgeon's. After that, there's a sequence of appointments with my regular dentist to get the replacement tooth.

It's going to feel funny. I'm used to the gap now and it doesn't really bother me.
