I got the first disc of Hetty Wainthropp Investigates from the library, and watched an episode tonight. It's so cute and British! and Dominic Monaghan is so cute and British! hee! yay. there need to be more shows starring crotchety old ladies wearing tweed.

I ended up staying late at work today because Cortney called in sick. I didn't mind, though. I'm still in that honeymoon phase after a vacation where everything in my life seems extra-shiny due to my not having experienced it for a week. also, I could get used to this day shift thing. being home at 5:30 instead of 7:30 is aces. Justin is right; I need one job.

dentist appointment tomorrow. I've been flossing.

sadly--going to miss Duncan's big sparkly comedy show tomorrow night. good luck, Duncan, and break a leg, or a rubber chicken, or whatever it is you comics break.

the Veronica Mars obsession continues unabated. I need a Beaver icon.

Extraordinary Machine is quite awesome. so is In the Reins. I had four of the songs on the latter already, as unreleased Iron & Wine songs, and for the most part I like the new, Calexico-ized versions better. "History of Lovers" is damn catchy.

oh, oh! for the comic geeks, I read Runaways Vol. 4: True Believers the other day, and as soon as Nico said she tried a resurrection spell already, I was like "oh, crap. Alex is still alive, isn't he?" and it appears I may be right. (I so am.) also, there was SO NOT ENOUGH LESBIAN SUBTEXT IN THIS VOLUME.

I'm a bit sick of Marvel. they're always like "why don't we see how many superheroes from other storylines we can fit into this?" and it gets old. I'll stick with my self-contained alterna-comics, thanks. speaking of which, Fables Vol. 6: Homelands is scheduled for a January 1 release. (snicker-snack!)
